Botany

The plant is a shrub or small tree belonging to the same family as the myrrh producing trees. Frankincense is the exudation from the bark. It is collected by making incisions in the bark; the milky liquid flows out and solidifies on the branches or on the Ground as tears or masses. These are then sorted and graded.
