The plant is an annual growing to four feet tall with a single stem that branches off at the top. The leaves have no stalk and are spearhead-shaped. The flowers are light blue with five petals and form at the top of the plant. The seed pods are globular in shape and have distinct cells which contain the glossy brown teardrop shaped seeds.
